ANALYSIS OF TURKISH VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF NURSING EFFECTIVENESS OF ETHICS EDUCATION SCALE

Material and Method: The research sampling was carried out with the third and fourth class two hundred and thirty students who enrolled to Nursing philosophy and ethics course. A form related to “Student Description Form” and “Nursing Effectiveness of Ethics Education Scale” “were used to collect research data. The data were collected by researchers by face to face interviews. Language equivalence, content validity, and structure validity were used in the study of scale’s validity, and Content Validity Index was applied in evaluation of expert opinion. In the analysis of the data, Cronbach's alpha was used to determine the number, percentage, mean, Pearson moment product, two half-split reliability analysis, item- total correlation analysis, descriptive factor analysis
(AFA), confirmatory factor analysis (DFA) reliability coefficients were calculated.
Results: The average age of the students who participated in our research is 20.66±1.77, 77.4% is female. Validity index value of the items of the scale were found to be 1.00. As a result of this study, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test 0.94, Bartlett sphericity test (p<0.01) were significant. Accordingly, there are high correlations between the variables. Exploratory factor analysis conducted it is concluded that factor 3 of the scale. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was found to be 0.95. Sub-scales; personal morality subscale alpha value is 0.90; ethical reasoning subscale an alpha value of .92; ethical behaviour subscale an alpha value of 0.88 identified.
Conclusion: It can be said that, Perceptions of Nursing Effectiveness of Ethics Education Scale, which was intended to be brought in Turkey by analyzing the validity and the reliability, is a scaling instrument with a quite adequate validity and reliability indicators and in addition, this scale can be used safely for the determine nursing students effectiveness of ethics education states.
